pandas! polar bears!

as most of you know by now, pandas are my favorite animal ever. i was lucky enough to be able to see and photograph pandas at the san diego zoo, but now sadly that i live back in ohio, our zoo does not have any.

however, i don't discriminate! i love all animals! and lately i've been thinking i want to do something in my life that helps out animals. not that i'd give up being a photographer, because that will always be my main career and the way i make money. but i haven't been inspired lately. i just need it to be fall so i'm inspired again to take photos.

photography has become boring to me, which i never thought would happen. but it's so mainstream now, everyone is using instagram and everyone has collections of vintage cameras, that it almost has taken the fun out of creating photographs because i don't feel like i can produce original work.

i'm sure everyone, no matter what career they have, goes through this at one point or another. and here is my time. i just feel a bit stuck, and need inspiration.

which is where i've turned to the world wildlife fund. i've donated to them for years, and i know i've posted blogs about donating and adopting pandas before. i was on the site today and realized maybe i could volunteer at my own zoo and try to gain some more information on animals and what i can do to help.

so i got on the cincinnati zoo website and found a volunteer informational session that takes place next month, and i RSVP'ed to that. once i get more information i can find out if it's the right fit for me.  but i'm excited!

that's pretty much all. just wanted to share a bit of what's been going on with me because i've been so absent from buzznet.
